I hate seeing kids go to jail, but I have no sympathy for 'swatters'. This is bonehead dumb and downright dangerous. I almost wish he got the full 10 years.

Ironically, he got caught because someone he knew, messed with a website i visit

the owner is an ex-cop, and his friend in canada kept messing with the site until he got banned.......those two(dshock and nory) then went about continuing, threats to members of the forums, threats to the owner........calling the cops/changing the number to look like it came from the owners phone, saying he killed his wife/was gonna kill the cops

subsequently they were also dosing his website, among others

basically the owner and a bunch of others, started tracking his botnet/watching what they were doing, The owner actually drove to canada to perform survellance on the guy

and well i guess all this typing is futil :), you can read it from the horses mouth

Lol -> that's for sure...
Still,i have to admit...it's a real pity that young and talented people,
don't use their computing knowledge/abilities in a positive manner...
in the final end,not only they could be widely recognized for that,
but also get paid for supplying pentesting services on demand,instead of breaking the law...
