Good day all. I'd like to say how much your forum and associated resources are needed and appreciated.
Having spent so many years battling malware on many fronts, MDL is a welcome member to the Porfessional's toolkit.

If you don't mind I'd like to pose a question -

Where are the TOS? I know I signed to agree to them but, for the life of me, I can't see a link to them on the forum.

Thanks so much

He-he...well,what exactly do you mean by "TOS"?  ::)

The only specified rule for people around here is to not submit links to child pornography,
no matter if they also host malware as well...they should be reported to:
http://www.iwf.org.uk/reporting.htm

I could also add "vx-trading" as well as something not acceptable around here,
it's a forum meant for malware hunters/fighters,not for "weirdo" virus collectors...

Thanks for replying sowhat-x,

TOS is the industry standard for "Terms of Service" - the forum rules.

As moderator we were required to know them implicitly and had to remove posts - or "TOS the post" when a user posted material against the rules.

For example THIS is the TOS for the forum I used to moderate.

It is effectively the agreement we all ticked "Agree" when we registered.
Can anyone point me to a link for this?

Hi CgenrOnforce, and welcome on board...  :)

I know what TOS means...and that's exactly what I described above.
That since we're a quite small community of researchers around here,
more or less,we've never had the need until now to specify a "written" TOS...
except from the two things mentioned above...

sorry for insinuating your lack of knowledge sowhat-x,

And thanks so much for your help. Relaxed is good.

Being an international community and a very large forum, we were routinely
monitored and confronted by the law. We also have some very high profile
professionals there who have a lot to lose if their forum is busted.

And please - that's not a slam to this community - I *do* like it here.

Just as in the corporate world with security policies etc - they usually aren't
implemented until someone hammers the company.

Lol,no problem...I also feel the need to say sorry,
in case my reply might have sounded somewhat absurd in the first place...
It's just that I really caught myself completely surprized with such a question,he-he...
as you can see,it's kinda "family" spirit around here, and thereby,no major problems ever arised...  :)
