We're listed. I tried to contact the guy months ago to get the site removed from that hosts list, since we have never been running adverts. I have no idea why we are listed there, and he has not removed us. Now a couple of other sites which have copied his list, also have us listed.

From the inclusion policy page: http://pgl.yoyo.org/adservers/policy.php

Types of servers that will be listed:
ad servers - servers dedicated to serving up ads (these make up the majority of entries)
malware servers - servers contacted by viruses, spyware, or other nasty things that routinely attack your computer
tracking servers - any server that is dedicated to recording user's actions
spam servers - occassionally I'll add a server that is causing a huge amount of spam, but very rarely

We don't fit into any of those categories.

I don't get it :P

Per statement,from his site:
"I don't apologise for being lazy about this site,but I do appreciate people's contributions;
and I can understand people who get annoyed if I don't respond in a reasonable amount of time."

...yeah,really?If so,then I guess he will also understand,
that I also won't apologize for doing my best, for blacklisting his site as well...  >:(

No hard feelings - in very simple terms:
to properly maintain/update and provide such a list is a very BIG responsibility,
and obviously false positives are expected to happen more or less.
Everything here is MANUALLY verified one-by-one,and this is done for a reason...
But not replying back, either because of...laziness,boredom,lack of time,
misconfigured mail server/whatever...is certainly NOT an excuse for not fixing them....
If he/she doesn't have the time/will to act in this way,
then he should NOT make his personal list available in public.

It's cause you guys host malware most probably

while you don't automatically attack, some user may get clicky, and get themselves infected

and ofcourse they say they came here and copied/pasted a link

while theres no auto-clicking, and it says right at the top, they'll still probably just keep you blocked from complaints, sad but true

It's only because the author is too "lazy" (per his own words),to properly maintain a hosts file.
Now are we supposed to take this seriously?
Lmao,malwaredomains.com also didn't escape him, what more to say therefore...
under the same context, castlecops should also be blocked, offensivecomputing etc.
Maintaining a proper hosts file is certainly not an easy task to carry on:
if someone feels lazy doing so,he/she should not do it in the first place...
This is how a properly maintained host file looks like:

and there lies the problem of the internet, anyone can do anything, without any real reprocussions

which is kind of why this very website exists ;)
